Disclaimer

In South Carolina, notaries public are not permitted to conduct real estate or mortgage loan closings without an attorney present. While some states do allow for notaries to conduct a closing without an attorney, the South Carolina Supreme Court has clearly stated that an attorney must conduct all real estate and mortgage loan closings. Mortgage refinancing is also subject to this rule.A non-attorney who handles the signing of real property documents engages in the unauthorized practice of law. Loan modifications, however, can be signed without an attorney present if the loan modification results from a borrower being in default. For real property transactions, only witnessing/courier services will be provided with attorney supervision.

Contacting Me

Due to the increase in spam and robocalls, please leave a voice message if I do not answer. Feel free to also text or email, and I’ll get back to you pretty quickly.

The listed phone number is shared by “The Berkeley Observer” and “Spotlight Media Pros”–both companies that I own.

Also, don’t be alarmed if I refer to myself as “Nikki.” That’s the nickname that I go by. No one calls me Renae, however, it’s my legal first name.
